In*Sight exhibition at Gallery Bergen at Bergen Community College, Paramus, NJ

I've been chosen to exhibit in the In*Sight exhibition at Gallery Bergen at the Bergen Community College in Paramus, NJ. Its very exciting to be part of an exhibition of New Jersey Artists. Along with 9 other artists, there will be an opening on Tuesday November 8th at Gallery Bergen at Bergen Community College. I'm looking forward to meeting the other artists in the show.

"The curatorial premise for the In*sight exhibition seeks works that examine the duality of vision and intuition and the outward/inward nature of things. "

My work Bombs Away Dream Baby (Red, White and Blue) were chosen for exhibiton. See image below.

Bombs Away Dream Baby (Red, White and Blue) speaks to the influence and presence of the US government on the world stage today and whether this power is diminishing or strengthening with regard to the cost of fighting 2 wars and the rise of China and India as competitors for import/exports in terms of economic growth.

Bombs Away Dream Baby (Red, White and Blue) were made with a 10 x 8 pinhole camera. They were then contact printed and made into cyanotypes. Then scanned and enlarged. The Red and White image have been manipulated, with one added color (red) and one with the color removed (white). The Blue image is that of the cyanotype. They are then printed as Digital Inkjet prints.

Solo exhibition Entwined at the Imperial Arts Centre, Rocky Mount, NC

My exhibition opened on Octoer 8th with the opening reception on Sunday October 9th, 2011. The show was curated by Catherine Lloyd and looked lovely! Thank you so much to Catherine, Andre and all the team that enabled this show to happen.  And also, a big thanks to those that turned out for the show. I appreciate your support!

The picture to the right is the Imperial Arts Centre. As well as my show opening, there were two other artists work that opened as well. My former colleague and friend, Amy Freeman, a painter, also opened her painting exhibition. Amy is an awesome painter and her work can be seen here. Also the work of Robert Tynes was opened who is a contemporary Trompe L'oeil artist. He also gave a very informative Artist talk and demonstration of his painting style. Awesome illusion and a nice artist talk. Thanks Robert!

As you can see, its a large space and my works hung well together with large and smaller works contrasting to give some 'movement' to the viewing experience. Following are a few installation shots that include works from the Double Vision series, the Asymmetry series and the Bloodline series:

Last of the boxes went today!

Ah Joy! Ah relief! The last two boxes of work went to day to Rocky Mount. Ye har. Fabulous.

Hopefully between Catherine Coulter and I we can pull a show together that is conceptually sound and rich with connections that aren't too abstract!

I have been working hard and quickly these last weeks to finish the preparations for the show.

Last Box off my hands today!

Phew! Celebrating the fact that I posted the last two boxes today for my show in North Carolina! I am relieved to say the least!

I have lots of new work in this show, and between the curator Catherine Coulter and I, I am hoping for a minimally powerful show that speaks to the heart of my concerns about history, its interpretation, the lands we live on and our connection to them, and the waters (especially the Albermarle sound in NC and the Atlantic ocean) that connect the Carolinas to Barbados.

Stereography gone awry is brought to life as forced snippets of two different moments in time.
