ARTFUL EXPLORATIONS OF ACTIVISM

MCA Artful explorations of activism exhibition and the ARTIVISM exhibition which opens on Friday night the 13th, 2018 at the Pollack Gallery at Monmouth Uni in Longbranch runs through till May 31st.

So if your heading down to the shore and want to visit, there's a great show and also see the Guggenheim's summer home, and Webster Hall. One of the prettiest holiday displays I've seen, it is truly a sight. I like Monmouth as a campus. It is small enough but big enough, if a huge college is not an experience a student wants.

You won't be disappointed, especially on a gorgeous spring day!

Artivism

Activism and Art is a great new series of events at Monmouth University.  Music, Dance, Visual Art and Film events over the coming months. Some great culture here!

Artivism, the exhibition that is currently on show at the Pollack Galleries at Monmouth is one of the events of this series. My work and the work of many others whose work makes social comment through an expressive visual form.

Pollack Gallery

gallery opens 10am

As a universal language, the arts have always been an effective tool for addressing social issues. Artivism or "activist art" is a form of social protest that explores cultural and political concerns. However, it is much more than just an innovative tactic, Artivism involves an entire practice that attempts to inspire positive change in society. This juried exhibition will feature works of art that employ spectacle, symbolism and collective participation to fight for issues of social justice including racial discrimination, gender equality, fair labor practices, human rights and more.
