American is an exhibition that grew out of a previous exhibition called Power Shift, which was inspired by a visit to ECU photography department by Iraqi artist Wafaa Bilal. Bilal works at the Tisch School of Arts, NYU. See more about Wafaa here :
The Artists' in the exhibition are: Wafaa Bilal, Annie Hogan, Adam Jacono, Nathan Brines, Marilyn Forbes and Roderick Fincannon.
American is comprised of Painting, Performance, Photography, Video, Interactive Media and Sculpture.
Closing reception for American is September 16 at 5pm in Mendenhall Gallery, East Carolina University.
